OCTOBER 2019

WHAT'S NEW?

We’re always looking for new and interesting ideas for libraries, and recently we’ve added four new products to our growing range.

If you work in a library, you’ll be only too familiar with the sorts of things that people use as bookmarks – photos, paper money, tissues (used and unused), socks, hair ties, iPads and of course, a taco. A librarian of our acquaintance swears that she once found a fried egg marking a page in a returned library book.

We thought we’d run with the food idea, but in a much more acceptable way.

So, here are our new Scratch-and Sniff Bookmarks.  You get all the aroma of your favourite food (which has got to be better than the smell of a fried egg, surely) without the mess of the real thing.

Our initial range comes in five healthy options – jelly bean, popcorn, peppermint, cheeseburger and gummy worms – guaranteed to be calorie free so you can inhale without any pangs of guilt.

Library budgets are always stretched and there’s not necessarily a lot of money available to refresh and brighten up the interior of your building. Librarians, however, are well used to coming up with creative and cost-effective solutions to such situations.

If you don’t have the budget (or the permission) to repaint your library walls, why not cover them with colourful, modern, appealing posters?

We really like this new You Can Be Poster Set  that encourages your library users to get busy reading and to imagine all the things they can be. The message is that when you read (and it can be fiction or non-fiction) you can be anything and everything you want, whether it’s a painter, a scientist, a DJ, an explorer, a rock climber, a deep sea diver….

We think that’s a pretty positive message for any library user, and a great way to brighten up any library wall.

Sticking with the poster theme, we’re delighted to introduce seven new designs to our very popular StickTogether Mosaic Sticker Poster range.

In addition to the nine existing designs, we now have the Springtime Frog, King Tut, Rainbow Unicorn, Panda, Parrot, Llama and Clownfish.

It’s been great to hear how people have been using these sticker posters in libraries, schools and even resthomes.

The posters can provide a very enjoyable alternative to the jigsaw puzzles that many libraries have available in-house; they’ve been a real hit in Makerspace programmes; they have provided a focal point for collaboration (and the chance for a good chat) in staffrooms and resthomes; and they can be used in conjunction with classroom competitions and reading challenges.

The Colour Craze Table Colouring Sheet is just what it says – a 61cm x 183cm sheet of good quality paper that will cover a table and enable groups of artists to do their thing as they colour in the patterns on it. And just to make things even better, there’s a quote running through the middle of the sheet that says “Books aren’t made of pages and words. They’re made of hopes, dreams, and possibilities”. Sounds pretty good to us!

Once the colouring sheet is finished, it can join the You Can Be Poster Set and the StickTogether Mosaic Posters on your library walls for everyone to enjoy and admire.

We hope you’ll check out these new products on the website, as well as the other products we provide for libraries and schools around the country, and don’t forget to look out for more new products coming soon.

If you want to know more or if we can help your library or school in any way, please get in touch. We’d love to hear from you!
